UCT stands for “Utah County Tennis”. UCT refers to a number of features and resources including an ongoing ladder, Facebook Group, GroupMe Message board, casual group meetups, etc. When people say “UCT” they are usually referring to the ongoing 3-month ladder. There are 4 ladders throughout the year.

A ladder is a dynamic tennis league where players pay an entry fee and schedule their own matches and report their own scores. Players receive points based on an in-depth point system and climb the ranks within the ladder! Our ladder goes for 3 months and there are 4 ladders throughout the year to provide an option for year-round competitive play.

Any 3.5 – 4.5 adult tennis player, regardless of gender, is welcome to join! Don’t know your rating? Watch this video to help you determine your rating.

As of right now, there is no guarantee for prize money. However, players who finish a ladder ranked in the top 3 players will receive free entry to the following ladder.

Players earn 2 points for playing a match.
Players earn 1 point for each set won.
Winner earns 5 points.
Winning in straight sets earns 2 additional points.
Winning over a higher-ranked player earns 3 additional points.
Winner by forfeit earns 8 points.
Winning where opponent retires 8 earns points.
Losing a match but winning at least one set earns the loser 2 points

Losing matches means that you are playing people who are better than you and improving your game! You still get ladder points even if you lose a match. The more matches you play, the higher your ranking will be!
